Sustainability has formed an integral part of the corporate philosophy at Düsseldorf Congress for many years now.
As early as 2010 the CCD Congress Centrum Düsseldorf was one of the first international congress centres to be awarded the Green Globe certificate. This is an internationally recognised and independent certification scheme developed specifically for the travel and tourism industry and rates a company’s sustainability under ecological, social and economic aspects. Since its first certification the CCD has been re-certified at regular intervals and succeeded in optimising its sustainable way of operation from time to time.
Beyond, Düsseldorf Congress has voluntarily committed itself to complying with the guidelines of the “Fairpflichtet” sustainability code agreed upon by the event industry.

Our members of staff are trained and continuously educated in various areas for sustainability management at regular intervals, thereby widening the horizon within the company and reaching out to customer contacts.
We order our office supplies, our drinking water and other consumables from one regular local supplier with a view to reducing truck numbers on the motorways and promoting regional business.
All rooms in our buildings are accessible for wheelchair users or persons with mobility impairments by means of lifts. In the complete building there is only one room with stairs that – in the event of use – is fitted with a drive-on ramp to make it accessible.
In cooperation with our partners and service providers (AWISTA/ Stockheim) we primarily focus on waste avoidance, with the help of re-usable systems, for example, (for floor coverings, crockery and packaging) but also by saving paper (by means of digital brochures and paperless invoicing workflows). To ensure meaningful disposal and reclamation of waste we have installed recyclables collection points.
At least 80% of our luminaires are fitted with compact fluorescent lamps (CFL), LEDs or halogen lamps.
With a view to reducing emissions ourselves our in-house vehicle pool largely relies on e-vehicles. The CO2 emissions of all company vehicles are compensated for via the climate protection organisation “atmosfair” every year.
In cooperation with our mobility partners such as “Rheinbahn” we put together attractive offers in order to promote the use of local public transport for travelling to events. Comprehensive signposting system ensure efficient routing to the venues.
We look forward to receiving news from you should you have any questions regarding sustainability.
